El 16 de Julio 2007 tiene previsto su llegada a Valencia un grupo de
componentes del Circulo Hispano Maltés en el marco de acercamiento
amistoso y cultural entre Malta y España

La visita , dentro de un recorrido de 15 días por diversas Comunidades
Autónomas, comprende entre otros importantes enclaves valencianos,
Centro Histórico  de Valencia y sus monumentos, Ciudad de las Artes
y las Ciencias de Valencia, la exposición La Luz de las Imágenes
en la histórica ciudad de Xàtiva y culminara con una cena en el
Real Monasterio de Santa María de la Valldigna en Simat de Valldigna,
comarcas estas con gran  número de ciudadanos de origen maltés,
como lo acreditan apellidos como:
Caruana, Gerada, Fenech, Magro, Mifsut, Sicluna, Zamit, etc.
 
Estos apellidos malteses siguen siendo firmes nexos de unión entre Malta y España

15 July to 30 July

 Day 1 ~ 16/7 Sunday
– Group meets at Malta International Airport at 20.30. Departure Malta International Airport on direct flight 588 at 22:50 to Barcelona El Prat Airport. 
Estimated time of arrival, 01:00. 
We then board our luxury coach which will transfer us
[approx.20mins] to Vilafranca del Penedés hotel, for the night. 

 Day 2 ~  17/7 Monday  
– Late start, and after  B’fast, a visit to the village and a Torres Wine Bodega. 
In the afternoon, departure to Valencia. Settle in our  hotel, dinner and free time.  Valencia Bed and Breakfast so dinner is not included.

 Day 3 ~ 18/7 Tuesday
– After B’fast, OPTIONAL [ city tour ] guided tour of the Valencia Old quarters,
the Cathedral, the Holy Grail, the Lonja [ World Heritage Site] the Palacio del Marques de Dos Aguas [ceramics museum], and las Torres Serrano.  Break for lunch.
Optional tour continues after lunch Coach City  Panoramic Tour,
a visit to the Fallas Museum.  Free time and dinner. 
Valencia Bed and Breakfast so dinner is not included. 

Day 4 ~ 19/7 Wednesday
– After B’fast We strongly suggest that tour members spend the day at the avant garde facet of Valencia, the ‘ Ciutat de Artes y Ciencies’, architecture by world famous Santiago Calatrava. This are has been reclaimed from the River Turia to house the fantastic Palau de la Música Theatre, the Hemispheric Imax theatre, the Museu de Ciencies Principe Felipe, Science Museum  and the Museu Oceonografique, Ocean park, Seaworld Museum. 
Entrance into the Science museum or especially, the ocean world is highly recommended.
Dinner and free time. Valencia Bed and Breakfast so dinner is not included.

 Day 5 ~ 20/7  Thursday
– After B’fast, OPTIONAL Full Day tour to Cuenca, World Heritage City by Unesco.  Guided tour around the old quarters.  Here we will have the unique opportunity of seeing the Hanging Houses of Cuenca, with a break to sample local cuisine. 
Return to Valencia, dinner and free time. Packing up. 
Valencia Bed and Breakfast so dinner is not included.

Day 6 ~ 21/7 Friday 
– After B’fast departure from Valencia, on our way to Zaragoza.
Stop at Teruel for a few hours to appreciate the beauty of Mudejar Architecture. 
A stop at the cathedral and a visit to the crypt of ‘ the lovers of Teruel’, Spain’s version of Romeo and Juliet. After a break for  lunch we continue on our trip to Zaragoza.  Settling in our hotel, and a first glimpse of the city, dinner and free time.Zaragoza Half Board so dinner is included.

 Day 7 ~  22/7 Saturday
– After B’fast, OPTIONAL Full Day City  tour of Zaragoza.  We will be looking at the great Basilica dedicated to  La Virgen del Pilar’, the Mudéjar style Catedral of San Salvador, the old quarters, A visit to ‘La Aljafería’ Moorish palace. A stop for lunch and proceed to the Roman ruins of the old ‘ Cesar Augusta’.  Some free time before dinner.  Those who would like to hear Sunday Mass, may do so.  Packing up.  Zaragoza Half Board so dinner is included.

 Day 8 ~ 23/7   Sunday
– After B’fast departure to Logroño, capital of La Rioja wine region.  City tour and a visit to a bodega for La Rioja Wine tasting and a taste of the local cuisine [included]. We proceed on our way to Bilbao, stopping at Nájera and Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Arrival Bilbao and settling in at hotel, dinner and free time.  Half Board at lunch time being Sunday.  Evening dinner not included.

 Day 9 ~ 24/7  Monday
– After B’fast OPTIONAL Half Day city tour and the Sanctuary of the Begonia.  
A visit to the Guggenheim museum [ from outside, inside modern artefacts exhibition], and a stop for lunch. Afternoon free.  Those who wish to enter the museum, [extra] may remain in the area and have lunch close by,  the others will be escorted to the centre for lunch and free time.  Another option in Bilbao is the museum de Bellas Artes [extra].  Another  possibility is a visit to Portugalete [extra] the world’s first iron opening bridge, still functional, This bridge has been proclaimed World Heritage site by UNESCO, last July.  Dinner and free time.  Packing up plus Overnight bag. 
Bilbao Half Board so dinner is included.

 Day 10  ~ 25/7   Tuesday
– After B’fast, we leave for a visit to San Sebastián.  City tour and a walk around the picturesque old quarters.  A stop for lunch and some free time to enjoy la Bahia de la Concha, one of the world’s most beautiful bays, with its striking railings.
Departure for Pamplona. Orientation of the city, free time and dinner.  
Pamplona  Half Board so dinner is included.

 Day 11 ~  26/7  Wednesday  
– After B’fast, guided city tour of Pamplona, where we visit the old town with special mention to the streets of the San Fermin encierro. Departure for Barcelona.  On the way we stop briefly at Puente la Reina, on the Camino de Santiago, and proceed to Jaca. There we will have some free time for lunch, and a glimpse at this pretty Romanesque town on the Camino de Santiago.  Another brief stop on our route to Barcelona will be Huesca, birthplace of San Lorenzo.  We proceed to Barcelona.  Late arrival, settling in our hotel, dinner and free time.   Barcelona Bed and Breakfast so dinner is not included.

 Day 12 ~ 27/7  Thursday  
– After B’fast OPTIONAL Full Day City Coach tour.  We will visit  the  Sagrada Familia [entrance incl], Parc Guell [entrance incl], La Manzana de la discordia and Casa Mila‘ la Pedrera’, and other grand sites in this spectacular city.  We stop at the centre for a walking tour of the main areas of the Barri Gotic, the  Cathedral [entrance incl,] Placa del Rei, Placa Reial, Santa Maria del Pi, Placa de San Jaume, Mercat de La Boquería etc.  After a stop for lunch, we proceed to the Palau de la Música Catalana and Santa María del Mar, and  free time for shopping, dinner and free time. Barcelona Bed and Breakfast so dinner is not included. 

Day 13 ~ 28/7 Friday 
– After B’fast Free day.  We suggest you either venture to the Sagrada Familia and climb up to the steeples. [Very strenuous but the site is tremendous] or a visit to the Museu  Maritim Drassans, a very interesting museum.Many of you would like to spend the day shopping. The rest of the day is free and we suggest that in the evening you visit the Magic fountain in Placa de España. Barcelona Bed and Breakfast so dinner is not included.

 Day 14 ~ 29/7  Saturday
– After B’fast  OPTIONAL Half Day excursion to Montserrat.  Later free time
for shopping and dinner.  Barcelona Bed and Breakfast so dinner is not included.
Packing up.

 Day 15 ~ 30/7   Sunday 
– After B’fast we proceed to the area near the cathedral to enjoy the atmosphere.
Those of you who wish to hear high mass may do so. 
After mass, possibly we will watch the enthusiastic Catalans dance the Sardana, the Catalan nationalistic dance. 
The rest of the day is free until our airport pick up at 23.00.  Please note that rooms may be kept till departure.* We must be at el Prat airport at 23.30. 
Departure to Malta, on flight 589 from Barcelona will be at
01:50.
Estimated time of arrival at Malta 03:50, early Monday morning.
